TaitemTontem-san XD XD XD Why so cute hugging the usatora soft toys so otomely like that XD I had worried about not being able to catch this and Namikawa's Nicolive Mayonaka TV live on the 30th since I'm currently overseas. Luckily, at this rate, seems like there is a possibility I may still be able to catch the Mayonaka TV. I figure I really shouldn't miss it if I want to kill myself rolling off the bed with laughter. Also, I'm looking at the Kinokuniya bookweb SG & HK for news of the Hero Gossip Book I posted about previously. Results - SG: Out of stock. HK: Not in stock. Reaction 1. (shock.) Uwaaah the Japanese weren't kidding when some said they were getting delayed notice even though they had preordered it at the start of this month. Reaction 2. (calm.) It's only out officially today; maybe the books aren't shipped in to other countries yet. Reaction 3. (...resignation.) At any rate, there'll definitely be 2nd press... Though 1st press would add to the specialness of this keepsake. Don't fret, don't fret, you'll definitely get your paws on this book. (self assurance stage now.)

Damn it! If I were Japanese, I'd dearly have loved to attend this event. Hirata-san + Yusa-san were enough of a bait, now Gou-san too... 豪華すぎっ --- [23:25] And is Gou-san's wearing that custom-made SkyHigh-coloured Poseidon Nike?! IF SO I WANNA SEEEEE --- [#25 final thoughts] I didn't make notes this episode, so I've forgotten a lot of things, but I haven't forgotten these: Tiger is so cool and so scary looming up from behind I went "kyaaa". Rose-chan reading "How to capture the heart of a single father"(?). I slammed the table in hysterical laughter. "Saitou-chan." SAITOU-CHAN. Ben. LOL BENNN. Glad it all wrapped up with that Orion OP 1. I've grown to really like that song. Isn't this... isn't this totally pointing to a 2nd season/OVA/etc...?!?! They're not even making an effort to make it mysterious. I'm thinking... with all the non-confidence of the series before it aired, surely there hadn't been any plans to make any continuation at that time. But with the cliffhanger way the show ended, it makes me think that maybe halfway through, when it got more and more popular, they forced last-minute changes into the script to make room for a continuation. ...Well, T&B will always be a premise+character-driven show for me, because I can say with 100% certainty that I didn't get hooked because of the plot. If When they make the continuation, they'd better make that Bison + Fire Emblem episodes that never came around. And Keith's 18-year-old summer. And Keith's 18-year-old summer. This is important. XD ... ...So I won't be seeing a moving Sky High anymore, at least for some while. I better find a way to rectify that asap. === Taking advantage of Bugis Kino's 20% off period, I went ahead and bought the T&B Official Hero Book. There was also the Mook fanbook (darn overlapping contents!), but I settled for the former. I haven't finished it in its entirety yet - just the character pages - but flipping to the Sternbild guide and storyboards, I find it very relevant to my interests, and the Sternbild contents are probably more accurate than the DVD special booklets...? XD Not to mention there are staff interviews and cast comments compiled at the very end. They did put character designs in the character pages, but I think there's still not enough information on the Hero Suits. Not enough! I want to see more detailed designs, and of how the suits work / are layered. The above is a cut from Sky High's section. It amazes me that it's never occurred to me before, but looking at the picture on the right, does that mean that the greyish part - or least part of the front of the costume - serves as a sort of breastplate/light armour? Should I have deduced that in the first place from the standing collar? I've always thought that amongst the male Heroes, Fire Emblem and Sky High both look pretty vulnerable if an attack did catch them, elemental barriers aside. Well, I imagine FE will explain it away with the reason of sty~le, but Sky High, heh. It'll be cool (to me) if there is some kind of protection there. But what I really want to say is- they have pretty detailed drawings/sketches of the Good Luck Mode, Tiger's Wild Shoot device, the main heroes' Lonely Chasers, Rose's bike + gun, Bison's catapult truck (lol), Dragon Kid's crest + club design, FE's car, and even how Origami's back look like with that huge shuriken tagged on/removed. BUT! There's none of Sky High's jetpack apart from the two angles shown above (which... is useful enough, to be honest). Or at least how Sky High's back looks like without the jetpack ala Origami. Oiiii I'm missing out on something precious here----------! They even gave Lunatic's bowgun a close up hey! ...And while I'm grousing about this, they've decided to come out with [hold on time for a toilet break it's nearly time for #25] --- [Finally back to continue this... 1 day later.] ... they've decided to come out with the "TIGER & BUNNY Official Guide Book - HERO gossips", set to be released on Sept 26. It's the book on the right. Things we can look forward to include: 100 Q&As - Exclusive interview with the Heroes 48-hour coverage of Heroes' everyday life - From "Good morning" to "Good night" Staff interviews + Cast talk Character designs, famous scenes, location shots, etc. ...Darn. I'll have to get my hands on it now, won't I. I'll have to fork out money for this now won't I. I'm just a total sucker for this kind of book, especially the character-focused sections. But 100 questions split amongst 8 Heroes = about 12 each. Not... enough...! XD Here's also hoping that chara design = jetpack. (I'm being terribly insistent on this eh. XD) I wonder if the cast talks will be a rehash of existing interviews in anime/seiyuu magazines. I very much suspect so. Especially the Hirata-Morita one. At least it's mentioned that the "photos" will be new. Good enough(!!). Contents-wise, I'd imagine it to be similar to Saiyuki's Saiyubito, and I'd absolutely loved that book. (Great, now I totally want to reread it. But it's not with me...) Anyway, I've included the other two books in the above screenshot because it further confirms my belief that Bunny looks x1000 more Handsome without those shady glasses, while ojisan looks super sexy in that ojisan sort of way with the same glasses. XD Lose the (5 pairs of) glasses, Bunny!

T&B #24

K-KOTETTSAA A A A A A N N  N   N    N つ【fried rice】 So previously, I didn't think I'll be having sunny-side-up eggs for breakfast cos I'm not a high-level fan(?) and all. But, For this case, Ojisan deserves all the fried rice he ever wanted regardless of fan-status. So - like everybody and their neighbours - I made some. XD GET WELL SOON, OJISAN. Initially, I had wanted to cook the fried rice the day after I watched #24 since I'd be alone in the house, but surprise surprise, I fell asleep (and therefore missing BOTH lunch and dinner goodness now I think I know why I never gain weight), waking up just in time to go to work. So I had to postpone it to the next day, which meant my mother was in so I cooked fried rice for two :D Ingredients used for future reference: - cooking oil (2 rounds) - cut green beans (a tupperful) - dried shrimp (a handful) - lean meat (a small spreadful, less than the shrimps, cooked last for about 3 minutes) - 麻油 (sesame oil? Interspersed drips whenever appropriate) - 生抽 (soy sauce? Added with feeling to get the colour, 1-shot, 2-shot) ... ... ↑ Gosh wow such helpful instructions... ... what kind of counter is "2 rounds"... ... teaspoons and tablespoons are for wimps ...Which actually is a good mix of ingredients (used whatever that was found in the fridge), as the shrimp and meat brought out the taste without any use of salt. Personally, I think Kotetsu is fine. How "fine" is fine I don't know, but I don't think he'll die. The vital signs went off on Saitou's screen simply because his suit is damaged beyond recognition... And therefore the person inside the suit is also damaged beyo I still stand by my belief about this show having an overall good ending, just because Tiger & Bunny feels like such a show. ... OHSH- Tiger & Bunny is... ending. -sudden denial stage- Thoughts about #24: Maverick's little explanation at the meeting = Luna begins to suspect him = bokoboko flag? Luna's injury = can't go on his justice spree anymore? ...Or somebody finds out about him via the injury. Blue Rose ii ko. Blue Rose is such a good girl. Origami looks totally composed and zenned out this episode. XD Kaede-chan is a genius NEXT now. She can delicately control new-found powers just like that. XD Dragonball... Fried ric ee... Bunny's long eyelash... Yeah, Rock Bison definitely shone in this episode. ... ...BUT NOT IN THAT WAY DAMN IT. The animation staff loves him so much the portrayal of his character is bordering on cruel. I think they made a mistake in portraying him this way when he wasn't even given a main episode for character expansion. Without that, I think it's rather hard for some people to sympathise with his behaviour in #24. Actually Fire Emblem feels very OOC this episode also. Panic-mode notwithstanding, the character interactions that have built up thus far in T&B seem to have imploded in this episode. But Blue Rose is a good girl and made everything all right. Except for Wild Tiger, whom I think is the most unfortunate character in this show. Right from the start of the show there's just bad news + bad news for him. Keith "asking" Sky High for help... It's as if Keith looks up to a certain model of "Sky High the Hero" to chase after as much the next Sky High fan. I'm sad that he got misunderstood just like that, but I've decided to ignore the character interactions in this episode and look forward to the next. XD According to Ozaki-san's tweet, the number of screenings of the final-episode-live-showing event is going to exceed that of Gintama's Sakuramatsuri and is a record in anime history...? T&B you are one scary kid.

Just some thoughts of last week's T&B #23 as I sit waiting for #24. Bunny-chan maji Handsome. First time I'm thinking this throughout this series XD Well, it's more "cute" than handsome, especially later on when Bunny turns this way and that while trying to recall. :3 Sunrise just wanted to put the manly slap in there a 2nd time, didn't they? "Don't dirty Wild Tiger's name anymore!" <- First time I sense how highly Barnaby really respects Kotetsu. Though he only says that now when he's not in front of "Wild Tiger" cos... tsundere and all? What is this Deadman Wonderland/Saw/Hollywood movie plot. XD Sky High-san, don't give me that "Ladies and gentlemen, are you all right? (shoop!)". Please get up from the floor On second thoughts, maybe he's trying to observe the surroundings inconspicuously, trying to find a way out. Though he's being pretty conspicuous staying on the floor like that. And with the jetpack, it's gotta be a pretty tough position to maintain. XD On third thoughts, perhaps he's injured? Laying his hand on his abdomen in that casual way... Conclusion: Sky High is just being Sky High. "Androids have no heart, they cannot save people", etc. （´；ω；）puwa-   Sky High, even if you didn't know it, an android girl had saved you from certain depression... Saitou-san & Ben-san: the last boss' last boss. How can 23 minutes go by so faaaaaast Now there are only 2 more episodes to gooooooo Rock Bison, now is your turn to shine. Now! Do it damn you! XD I actually like this turn of events, in a rather morbid way. But if you listen to Mr.RedNose's obligatory badguy-explanation, well, it's all good if Tiger+Bunny win, right? And since T&B is as cliched王道 as it gets, I'd think there should be a happy ending overall. But it'll be interesting if the bombs were going to detonate and they found a way to stop/escape tragedy. Post thoughts: - Ben-san has a death flag about him since laughing with Tiger in #21... hope he'll come through and be the next Hero combi with Saitou-san. - Looking at Japanese responses, it's Softbank v.s. Android. XD - Thanks to Keith and his yolks (why does this sound so... XD), I think of that yellow thing now when I'm watching YuruYuri's OP and get to the line "Kimi ga suki~ (Kimi ga suki~) Kimi ga ii~ (Kimi ga ii~)". At least I'm not imagining Keith singing this (yet).

Bad luck often brings good luck

[I wrote this but forgot to post it!?] --- It was 2.47am JST, and there was a peak of just slightly fewer than 60k people tuned in to Tiger & Bunny #22 on Ustream live. T&B, you are quite amazing. (And so are the tens of thousands of Japanese who stayed up this late just to catch the delayed broadcast on subpar streaming quality. You guys are too hardworking.) Granted, there could be a sizable number of people like me who are proxying from outside Japan, but still... Episode 22 started out a bit anti-climatic from the rush of #21. End of #21 had made me "kya!" in real life if only because I was expecting the normal "Wild ni hoeru ZE!(exclamation marks)" from Ojisan, who instead went "Wild ni hoeru ka.(fullstop with sexy ojisan Hirata-voice)" djfa;fKYAA. But the A part of #22 was just a tad contrived and convenient. Kaede was basically "I don't know how I did it, it just happened!" （`3´） ...which is kinda cute so nevermind :D But nearing the end, the pace picked up significantly as Tiger and Barnaby fight their little street-racing oiltruck-avoiding bridge-jumping bike-sacrificing 王道 Hollywood fight, so all is forgiven :D Anyway, I just wanted to throw that screenshot up there for another reason. When fakeTiger appeared behind the Heroes after Tiger led Barnaby away (the building leap was a really cool sequence btw), I was completely "OHMGfasjesfjakkd, don't let Sky High into this don't let Sky High into this DON'T LET SK" and our dear Sky High all but maxed out his ATB gauge again and flew/clambered/jumped/climbed fakeTiger the very next second and we got the very excellent flexi-pose we see in the screenshot. SKY HIGH WHAT U DOING ;___; IS THIS A FLAG? Is this a flag that fakeTiger will be revealed as an android, and through some circumstances Sky High will get to know about Cis...? You of all people I don't want fakeTiger to get close to... - the ones who saw the android in Cis form were Tiger and Barnaby. These two are now away from the scene. - Sky High was the one who could defeat the android (thanks to Cis-smile-boost); Tiger+Bunny barely made it. - if Sky High finds out about Cis, -> lose morale/freeze up/inner-mind battle -> can't fight android with full power -> the other Heroes can hardly match up to the android like how Tiger+Bunny couldn't touch Cis -> ???? - title of #23 is "Misfortunes never come singly." This can't be good. Actually it sort of contradicts with this eps' "Bad luck often brings good luck", much like how #1 and #2 did with each other also. XD But if it's Sky High, it's possible he can shake it off quickly, segregating private emotions from what needs to be done, especially after episode 15. King of Heroes after all, ex or not (he's still my KOH at least). But T&B can just break the flag and I wouldn't be surprised. NEXT WEEK COME WITH THE SPEED OF AIR-CUTTERS PLZZZ Some thoughts about #22: Sky High-san kakkokawaii (coolcute? koolkute? XD). Sky High slurps the york on sunny-side-up eggs like he's eating spaghetti...? I-I can't imagine it. Can yorks stretch THAT far up?! And his reaction of "Huuh?!". ...Wtf we should be the ones doing that. Rock Bison... you're quite cool this episode (e.g. when helping Tiger block Barnaby's attack)... but not cool enough! You could be cooler dammit! And pay Tiger back the $20! "You bastard, you're retaliating...!?" <-what do you think, Bunny-chan. I was freaking bursting of laughter when I imagine Tiger bringing that fist down on Bunny's face, and inside the helmet Bunny was all （ °Д°）＜貴様、反撃かァァァァ   Bunny-chan, what kind of 13-year-old are you. When Sky High caught Tiger's wrist to arrest him, I was just... SUNRISE YOU BASTARD how dare you did that to Tiger with somebody other than Barnaby. I mean Tiger and Bunny can hold hands and princess-lift and girly-slap each other for all I care, it's all part of the entertainment(!?). But with this I could hardly focus on this episode properly since I actually do ship Tiger and Sky High. XD Ok well I ship Sky High with almost everybody Not to mention the sunny-side-up eggs scene. Could Kotetsu and Keith actually be rather good friends? They were in the same frame so many times this episode too, Sunrise you... XD When Tiger asked Kaede what that person looked like, I was fully expecting "the guy with the wart" as the answer. Sorry. But I'd like to think I'm not alone. So Kaede doesn't retain all of the powers she copied. Only the most recent one? Well that makes her less cheat-mode. If Kaede can float on her own, that'd mean that Sky High can also fly without the help of his jetpack? This question has always been on my mind ever since I saw fanarts of Keith flying suitless, but it's not really been shown in the actual series, and being able to control wind and being able to make wind "float" himself may not necessarily mean he can actively "fly", so... ... ... ...was what I was thinking when out comes the Tiger & Bunny BD Vol.4 Drama CD featuring Origami Cyclone, Sky High, and Fire Emblem. Seems like it implies that Keith indeed can fly (either that or zoom off into the horizon very, very quickly) without the help of his costume. *o* I don't think I've mentioned it before, but I really love Sky High .................................................................................'s jetpack very much. I love the whole of Sky High's Hero Suit design actually, but especially so for the colour concept and the JETPACK. So mechanical, so much movement details... I'd love to see the elaborate concept art/design work for the jetpack someday. I guess the jetpack is there as a booster so Sky High can reach up to xxx km/h? ...Also, lemonade. As Ustream finished airing #22, you can see people tweeting about how their breakfast later in the morning would be sunny-side-up eggs. Man, these people are too high-level. I'm not that professional a Sky廃 like you guys. ......................was what I remembered thinking. Then in the morning (just now), my mother brought me to Han's for breakfast. Camping out on Ustream now, waiting for the latest Tiger & Bunny episode to air. (Tsukkomi: It's 5+ hours away you camper!!!) waku-waku shakeshake Just hoping that I will be able to connect, as I'm not using my usual connection that can go through Japan proxy. --- [Edit: 11:33pm] Gou-san kawaii yo Gou-san. （´；ω；） --- [Edit: 1.38am] Uwah... Even though this plot advancement has already been predicted by some people, it's still extremely heart-breaking to see it played out. I was all "Nooooo!" when Mr Lloyds said that very first sentence he said to Tiger after the "gathering" with Maverick happened. And S-Samanthaaa...!!! ;___; Due to work which was completely KY and took up that exact half-hour of the airing, I missed quite a lot of the little details. Would have to rewatch it tomorrow. Nevertheless, a couple of things I believe in: - this is where Antonio comes in, isn't it? He must still retain some memories of his best pal. HE MUST. Oi you didn't have a chance to shine (in a serious way, I mean XD) in this anime yet! You MUST REMEMBER him! - But actually Ben-san was the first name I called out in that scene. Sorry Rock Bison :) Surely Ben is untouched and can do something about this, too. - Tiger's kuso-suit will make a come-back. XD I firmly believe. - In the drugging scene, Keith, Nathan, and I think somebody else weren't shown. Is this a flag that they may not be that contaminated by the memories? Fire Emblem still hasn't really had a main episode yet after all. And KOH is KOH, albeit an ex-. (Edit: My bad, Nathan was drugged as well. Think I was focusing too much on the non-appearance of Keith...) --- [Edit: 3.46am] The live SP of Haterumade Radio after the anime broadcast was a really great way to sooth the pain of Ep 20. Right from the start, when one of the first few mails came from a "Sky 廃", I burst out laughing. And then they came to this question again, AND THEN THEY actually showed video footage of the okama bar segment. There was only sound when they played this in the previous live recording (in which Hirata-san appeared and good grief it confirmed I do love him very much still XD). As expected of Nee-san. XD How about Barnaby? Reply: "The spectacles look shady." L.O.L. Bunny you... What animal would you associate with Barnaby? Various answers: - Mangoose. - Zebra. - Guinea pig. - Small animal. - Bambi. MANGOOSE. Oh gosh this was a killer. Was laughing so hard. BAMBI. LOL Bunny you... (Nobody answered "bunny", which by the way was ranked 1st on Animate-goers' answers of course.) As for Nathan, ranked 3rd on Animate-goers' answers were: - Flamingo - cos pink - Mum ..."Cos he's pink." ...Associated animal = Mum XD XD XD can't take it how gold can you guys get And this ended with a PR segment on an upcoming event in the bar. XD Yeah, definitely saved me from the doomy Ep20 ... ...which I'm going to rewatch later. (Why on earth is a site whose niche target is IT professionals offering wallpaper of a max resolution of only 1024x768??) You've always loved cycling. Speeding down the lane - fast enough to make your heart leap - grinning into the breeze in free-flying mode. This time, add to that shouting "SK--Y--HI------GH!" (silently in your heart), and you feel yourself grin twice as bright.

Welcome to the Sky廃 Club

Skyhigh appeared in my dreams... Must be a result of too much pixiv-ing... I don't think I have the time to love yet another character so intensely... But but but Skyhigh-san maji tenshi!! SKYHIGH-SAN MAJI ANGEL. /screams Now I can't wait to see the Tiger & Bunny comics that will appear... first in this week's Young Jump. It's so wonderful to like a character so much, and yet it's so time-wasting when you go through the I-have-to-dig-up-every-single-info-on-this phase (been there, done that with Saiyuki, Gintama, Namikawa, and Hetalia; now I'm just a stable, non-volatile, but every bit still fervent fan of all of them XD ).

Laptop came back after a rather long trip to the Service Centre. Now it's branded like the profile photo of a wanted criminal... (Do they not remove the sticker before returning customers their laptops?) June was quite a bad timing to have the laptop spoilt. Because of that, I'd missed most of June's in-game events in Dragon Nest JP. And to think it was the first anniversary! I'd pretty much missed a lot of chances at getting some useful items... like a permanent hat that actually has useful stats (great boost for F2P-ers like me), Epic Code (totally needed that), Kin-usagi keys (so hard to get when you're at higher levels), etc. And so my paladin stayed at Lv37 instead of the Lv40 I'd wanted to bring him up to before the level-cap raise. Paladin-kun is sad! AND MY LV40 SPECIAL EARRING EXPIRED because I couldn't collect it in-game. I just remembered this as I am typing. A bunch of armour/weapons/badges for my other lower-level characters expired in the post too. Especially my Lv28 Swordmaster's. One whole list of stocked-up Lv32 Epic items, and the Rare Crescent Cleave badge... What is this tragedy... Things to do: - Marathon Dragon Nest - Bring paladin up to Lv45 by mid-July - Catch up on the missed episodes of anime - Starting with final 3 episodes of AnoHana - Marathon Persona 4 gameplay - to prepare for next season's P4 anime!! Can't decide on which to do first... === As I collect the HK version of the Gintama manga, my aunt in HK would always help me buy them in bulk and have my father bring them back whenever he visits HK. But for the latest batch, she was really nice to send it directly here by post. When I opened the package... The Four Kings + Pirako arc! What coincidence, as that was just before the start of the very same arc in the anime. (And you can see that the chibis on the spines feature the rest of the three Kings :D ) I had caught only the first episode of that arc before the laptop busted, so the manga made for a perfect revision. I remembered it was an epic arc, but I had forgotten how epic it was. Now to marathon those last couple of Gintama episodes. R-18 time starts now.

I took a glance - the biggest wording shouted "$999". Ok, I thought, it's not -that- amazing to have a laptop costing $999 these days, is it? Specs must be somewhat on the average side. But then I swept my eyes over the laptop design... didn't it... look a bit like Alienware? Took a closer look at the next-biggest wording: hey, it is Alienware! Took a even closer look. U.P. $2499? i7-2630?? What? 6GB RAM??? 750GB HDD???? 3GB GT555M????? What is this laptop doing at $999 ?????????? Right from the get-go do we even get i7 laptops these days within the $1000 range?! And this is a 14" Alienware with all these s- Specs! Plus you'd get to pay in weekly instalments. Just a few things to say about various Jump series before I leave them to be elaborated later. Dois Sol - Loving this series. I hope it stays good, and stays in Jump (i.e. not get axed before you can say "misanga"). Sket Dance - SHIIIIIIINBAAAAAAAA-SANNNNN! Shinba-san finally! I thought you'd never appear in the manga againnn (/^3^)/ Gintama - SAKAMOTOOOOOOOOOO. YOU. FINALLY. APPEAR. AGAIN. I'VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH (/;3;)/ (/;3;)/ (/;3;)/ And he appeared and spoke in this(?) week's anime Gintama too. What is this sudden influx 'that out of the way, Champions League Finals-ing nau. --- [Edit:] Well, United started brightly enough, but after that... complete deja vu XD The one thing that was running through my mind thoughout the match was, if United didn't even feel like they can keep possession, they're not going to deserve a goal anytime soon. At around the 24th minute, they finally kept some of their cool and managed to start keeping the ball amongst themselves (I took note of the time because damn, took them long enough -_-), but then I got interrupted and didn't quite catch the rest of the match until a little into 2nd half. For the same reason, I almost missed Rooney's goal, but I managed to turn around and catch the moment :D Such excellent football, that Barca. I'll still be grieving for United (and van der Sar in particular... Is this what one would call "bittersweet" - to be bowing out on such a note?), but Barcelona... such a pleasure to watch.

Happy birthday, Namikawa-san!

About Kitayume's April Fools' so far: France, still ever so fabulous. SmallFrance, still ever so pretty and cute (and sometimes kimoi but that's a praise). Russia in crazy-hiding mode XD He just gets cuter and cuter why. Spain. I think he's drunk. I think he's drunk. Everybody run. --- One more hour till Wales v.s. England The above sentence was supposed to be the start to a little commentary on the Wales v.s. England game I had been watching, but England scored so early I lost all motivation... It's funny, but I still support Wales all these years on, even if Giggs had retired from international football long ago. (Was it really "long ago"? Hard to tell since my biological clock stopped working... long ago.) The team itself actually doesn't look half bad on paper, but sometimes thanks to... untimely occurrences, they can't get the full team around, and they just don't get the right results as much as they should. Anyway, I was watching the SKY Sports? broadcast, and because they had Giggs and Gary Neville in as guest pundits, alongside Glenn Hoddle. Like. XD XD XD. I just can't get used to the idea of certain players becoming pundits. -thinks of Alan Shearer- What do you call that? 違和感。 At the post-game analysis, there was some strange atmosphere between Neville and Hoddle as they debated the bad/good(respectively) of England's 4-4-2. I half thought maybe Hoddle used to do 4-4-2 in the past and Neville was somehow remembering those days and was attacking it. But I actively avoid know zilch of England's football team so... Good to see more of Giggs though. :D At least Wales gave England some good scares in the 2nd half. I'll be looking forward to the return leg. REVENGE. --- ここから本編↓ A new season of anime! Prior to the January 2011 season, I have not watched anime for a long time. Really long time, I think. My Gintama is still stuck at #100, which I can't continue because the laptop containing those episodes is spoilt. (HDD is ok though, I'm just too lazy to take it out.) My Kuuchuu Buranko was still stuck at #4, which I finally marathoned at the end of last year and EPISODE 10. Its episode 10 was just brilliant. Wonderfully presented, absurdly touching, so... so overwhelming, it got me wondering why I hadn't finished watching this series sooner. Oh, right. HDD SPACE NO ENUF. But now I have a new laptop (a desktop seems to be a foreign concept to me now), and I decided to start watching anime again. January 2011, I decided to follow 3 series: Level E - Namikawa + Togashi. Speed of light decision. Hourou Musuko - I simply have to catch this the moment I read the synopsis. Plus, it's noitaminA. Fractale - Fantastic concept art. I love concept art. I love concept art that is pretty. The synopsis doesn't appeal to me, but it's on noitaminA! All of these are 1 クール, which means they've finished airing by now. My thoughts: Level E: Plain enjoyable. As in, 普通に面白い。Can't think in English these days. Loved the epicness of it all. And nobody loses when Captain Kraft is voiced by Koyasu. XD XD XD Since the manga is finished, we had a good wrap-up of the anime as well (though it seems they did not animate the final chapter). Perfect match for the prince. Namikawa-wise, it was very grin-worthy. As baka-ouji, there was a variety of voices for him to do. A-And you get to hear him sing the whatever-ranger song...! -IS TOUCHED- (<-don't get touched so easily!!) Loved the ED. OH AND THE 2ND PRINCE IS VOICED BY HINO-CHAMA. No no, I absolutely did not niyaniya over this. -loves Namikawa-Hino combi niyaniya- Fractale: Ah~ it certainly has lovely backgrounds. I like the character art too - simple and easy on the eye. Almost Ghibli-like. But the plot... just... doesn't... do it... for me. Even before that, it seems confused as to what kind of genre it wants to be. I'm currently left with the last two episodes to go... I want to complete it, just for completionist's sake. But... it's... so... hard... Hourou Musuko: I am just surprised that I have never even heard of this manga before. Because I love the anime. Actually, I'm glad I've not read the manga, because I've seen people criticising it for skipping volumes of manga and starting from the middle of nowhere, as well as for other faults that they feel do not match up to the manga. To me, Hourou Musuko the anime is a brilliantly directed piece of art, and nowhere at all was the pacing or the plot confusing. And here I'm watching it raw, unsubbed. A lot of details are certainly implied, but nothing that you cannot deduce along the way. Anime that doesn't take its viewers to be idiots - I like. The OST is great - very fitting - and the soft pastel wash is a very fitting palette for this series. (I'm out of vocabulary :D) Love the OP+ED. Also, MAKO~CHANNN~ XD He's an otomekko!(sez the offical website) I love me otomekkos. For an anime whose manga is still ongoing, it had a perfect ending. Perfect fadeout, perfect symbolism. The whole of last episode had me all warm and fuzzy. I liked the anime so much even while halfway through the series that I decided I'd have to start reading the manga once the anime finishes airing. And start I did - streaked through 5 volumes of manga the same day I finished watching the last episode. I like the manga art as well; I'll be sure to catch the other works of this mangaka. Having now read the manga, I can sympathise with those who feel that the anime threw away a lot of interactions via skipped manga material. You see more into the personalities of, say, Shii-chan, Saisho-sensei (voiced by Nakai-san lol), ...SEYAAAA. Seya. I think he'd make a very nice boyfriend in real life. :D Nevertheless, that does not make the anime any less interesting. If anything, the anime adapted many highlights of the manga and wove itself into a splendid standalone anime. I have now also collected the subbed episodes, and will be marathoning them in one shot some day. --- こっからマジ本編↓ Which brings me to! The list of anime I am looking out for this season. At first, it was a short list. Then I watched most of the PVs offered this season, and it grew into a long, long list. Just to try out the first episode and drop where necessary. Anime I've decided from the start to follow: Gintama' - Manga that I'm following. Restart of the Gintama anime. BUT OF COURSE I'LL FOLLOW IT. Sket Dance - Manga that I'm following. I updated my journal from Japan a few entries ago just to say I saw the Sket-Dance-gets-animated announcement, right there on a Jump cover in Japan. Isn't that special? Ao no Exorcist - Manga that I'm following. A tad disappointed that Namikawa is not going to continue voicing Rin, but deep in my heart, I'd admit Namikawa's voice isn't quite "Rin". Just like in Sket Dance Yocchin's voice doesn't quite go with my image of "Bossun" (but his tsukkomi timing is faultless so nothing to complain about). BUT IT'S ALL GOOD ANW COS NAKAI-SAN GOES KANSAI-BENNNN yahahaha. I can HARDLY WAIT. Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san. - Superb seiyuu cast. Keeping in mind the OAV, I've steeled myself up for the contents... coppered up my mind and all. So it should be ok. And the radio so far... you guys are horrible, Onosaka and Kamiya-san. *is a compliment* Nichijou - Your extraordinary everyday life series with cute girls. Worth a catch. A Channel - Similar reasons to Nichijou. The cute girls part, at least. C - Director Nakamura. Screenplay by person who wrote Baccano, Drrr. noitaminA spot. Definitely worth a watch. Or it could become another Fractale, because I'm not quite interested in the premise. But it's Nakamura kantoku! Have faith, have faith. Hm, ok. 7 anime is not exactly a "short" list. Now add to those the list below - anime I've decided to catch after watching the PV: (i.e. whether they are eroge or not, I don't know :D ) Hanasaku Iroha - Quite the jaw-dropping backgrounds. Did I mention I'm easily swayed by good art? I love pretty art. And good music. あの日見た花の名前を僕達はまだ知らない。 a.k.a. Ano Hana - Long-ass title aside, I keep confusing this with HanaIro (anime above). AnoHana, HanaIro. I was unsure whether to catch this at first - it's the other noitaminA anime, but I can garner nothing of the plot from the synopsis. After watching the PV, guess I'll give it a chance - art and BGM are not bad. Steins;Gate - This seems popular. Will give it a go. Deadman Wonderland - No PV offered, but seems worth a watch. Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko - No PV, but the style of the original art is to my liking. Hidan no Aria - GIRLS WITH GUNS. I fell in love on first sight with the sniper girl. Maybe I'll turn out to hate her and this anime (girls with colourful hair is a warning sign of Not-My-Genre), but doesn't hurt to give it a try. Yuruani - SUR.REAL. XD Will definitely watch if I can find it anywhere, but odds don't look great... Showa Monogatari - lol. I quite like the atmosphere of such shows. That's doubled the list. I also have other anime I might watch for the lulz like   30歳wのw保健w体育www   since it's conveniently broadcast on Nico, or Tiger&Bunny (it's Hirata-san! But it seems mecha... but it's Hirata-san!)... Well, if I feel like it. :D Entries always turn out so freaking long...

Aust-nukooooo Itachan-nukoooo huaaaaaaaaaah mummy-like kizoku-neko going kunkun over poofy Itachan-neko waaaah (what a mysterious sentence I don't need a cat sniffing me to feel blissful - just looking at this picture is heaven. First it was Mochirosia and Mochitalia, now it's kizoku-neko and Itachan-neko... Why is Himaruya pushing my exact 2 fluffywuffy pairings so much in even more fluffywuffy forms?! (Although yeah Mochirosia was just a taaaad scary.) I just went huaaaaaah in the office didn't I, dammit!

The super good thing about working shift is that, if the timing is right, I can marathon things like the Kitayume. Christmas without worrying I have to work/be up early the next day. ...which was supposed to be the case (the marathoning), but unfortunately had to cover for a colleague yesterday, and ended up leaving home at 5.45am without having slept at all. The second thing I like about this job is that, there is no chance in hell I will ever fall asleep on the job, which is saying something because I've fallen asleep on every single part-time/attachment work experience I've ever had - yeah, even that programming one that I liked. It takes some ninja skills not to get found out ...mostly. And so you sat yourself at work, and continued refreshing the page and then some now and then for updates :D ("Awwww Merica~") Wow, 2ch live-thread-checking at work. What an experience. Not that anybody would know what 2ch is in this office, so no need to hide, either :D Wait did I just admit I visit 2ch But anyway. You finally come home at night, plant yourself in front of the PC... and continue refreshing the page at around the stated times... And suddenly you found your mother beside you, scolding you for falling asleep on the chair: go to bed! The third time you found yourself asleep on the chair a while later, you trudged off to bed... a quick wink should do it - wake up, catch the night update, then off to bed for real. Sounds good! When you woke up next, it is light, and 16 hours later. (...again.) (I SLEEP SO MUCH I HATE MYSELF ;_;) ...Refreshed the page, KYAA There is Rosia-san, Cana-chan, ...half-stripped Austria. It's like, what. My favourite characters being totally delicious. Rosia-chan so deliciously... 押し倒ｓ thrown pinned down cute defeated (Waaait I swear I feel sad too!!), Cana-chan being so deliciously DELICIOUSSSS AND KUMA AND CUBA SO CUUUUTE AND aaaaaaaaaaah AUSTRIA. [The icon of] Kizoku going "............" over the map. SO CUTE IT HURTS. And the end. Now that was really some delicious 押しt mmmmm action. Even better if I imagine the silhouette to really be FranceMMMMmm. 腦補-ing thx. I get it! Good things comes to those who sleep, huh. Hima-san is really too good to his fans XD Hope he himself has enough rest though. What I hope is that France-niichan won't (really) be the bad(?) guy this time around, and will fight mecha/shadow/multipleFrance and become the hero who saves the literal world. Finally finished reading Ouran KK Host Club. 看完後的一些感想: 你們這幫有錢人...!（雖然前x話也已經這麼想過了） ...好方便...不過也算是 Happy End 啦 雙子立體聲（笑） 櫻蘭的腐女們GJ! XD 果然很喜歡鏡夜大人（友情真好。） 還是很喜歡MORI前輩+小公雞（所謂的萌上加萌？） If they can keep up the quality of the original Ouran anime, I wouldn't mind them coming out with a 2nd season to wrap things up. Now to quickly settle things... and hope I can write another post next week :)

Quick log: Saw two geisha/maiko! They were walking rather briskly so I believe they're the real deals (as opposed to dressed-up-tourists). Unfortunately, thanks to some complications (i.e. camera in wrong setting when shutter button was pressed), I didn't manage to take a picture before they disappear quickly into a shop. Walked up and down that stretch of Hanamikoji once more, but did not have the luck of seeing any more geisha.

Uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh that doujin I had wanted to buy so much is sold out. That doujin I had wanted to buy so much is sold out. I had waited so long, budgeting my spendings till the day I deemed I could consolidate the shipping charges and afford to buy it, but now it's sold out. I had been so looking forward to it, but now it's sold out. Just this month alone I had missed out on another doujin and Zero Sum - both sold out - but that was because they were sold out so fast I had no chance. (Both were sold out in two days...) Actually, I wouldn't even mind those two so much even if I had the chance. But this doujin. I love that artist and had pined for that book so much... When the last 16 of the World Cups teams were finalised, I was just a tad disappointed: if Netherlands were to meet Germany at all, both would have to make it all the way to the finals (or at least the third place playoff). Which didn't look all that much a confident probability when you see the likes of Brazil and Argentina stand in their respective ways in possible quarterfinals. I dearly want to see Netherlands and Germany play each other! It's even more of a "derby" to me than the likes of England v.s. Germany, which I feel is more of a rivalry than a derby. Yeah, the previous sentence only makes sense to me Now that these two quarterfinals have really materialised, and Netherlands done their part of the deed, and right at this point of time Germany is leading Argentina, gosh, I might just have my wish come true. 'be gone watching the second half now.

Been suffering from an acute case of neckensconcilicus. You know, that thing you get when night-in night-out you sit splayed in you chair, unwitting falling asleep in front of the TV with your neck in an immensely weird position, and you wake up realising your life is in serious danger as you are now incapable of looking left, right, left before crossing the road. Wait I just realised should it not be right left right in this country? I've been doing it wrong! But I seemed to have recovered, only to see Italy knocked out of the World Cup, doing a France and finishing at the bottom of their group. ...The 2006 champions and 2006 runners-up finish at the bottom of their groups. This is surely a first. Are we in an alternate universe? Not that them being out is surprising, given their form (Ireland would feel particularly scandalised :D), but you wouldn't have predicted them both at the bottom of their groups before the World Cup started, would you? And Japan is through. Let me think back on a conversation approximately 10 hours ago... Mum's friend: No way in hell would Japan beat Denmark! XD For such a tournament full of pleasant upsets, my top wish of England getting knocked out didn't materialise. X3 But I don't think they'll go far anyway. (There now I've gone jinxed it...) And thanks to the World Cup, I was completely unaware of this epic Wimbledon match that lasted "11 hours five minutes" and broke the records 'til now. On second thoughts, it might've aggravated my neckensconcilicus, so it's all right then. Actually, the main purpose of this post was that I wanted to post some art... but I had second thoughts (again). Perhaps later :D

As if lucid speech is not already a far away enough concept for this hikikomori. --- Are you the kind of person who comes home and flings your socks into the rubbish bin, throws your keys into the laundry basket, and - as you open the fridge door to retrieve yet another ill-advised but nevertheless yummy treat - baskets the candy wrapper into the key-holder? Unfortunately, this part of me has never managed to change for the better in the past too-many years, so I am still one such person. Wait, how can one's hands hold so many things in the first place, you ask? It's a skill. Though I seemingly lack the Part II phase of the skill where you need the hand-brain coordination to put Part I into non key-losing good use. But this is not what I want to discuss about. I was at the library one day. There had been this hard-to-get CD that I had my eagle-eyes trained on, and that day, the online catalogue finally proclaimed this CD available for borrowing. So I was at the library. It was all good; I found the material I was looking for, shelved on the proper location of its call number. I glided down to first floor to borrow this magical CD (if I were to draw a comic about this, you would see s.C. holding the CD in a halo of spotlight, gliding to a kneel-down before the golden borrowing machine, her eyes glistening with unshed tears of... touchedness. Yeah, that kind of magical. Damn, what's the noun-word for ...touchedness... movedness...) But drat, the borrowing quota was full. BUT, I had expected that. It was just in a moment of scattered-brain stupidity that I forgot to return other library materials first. Tah-dah! I produced the CD and books I had wanted to return in exchange for the hard-to-get CD, walked over to a sofa-seat and settled down my yet-to-borrow books and CDs, hesitated a little... ...arranged the books such that they covered up that CD (hey, one can get a little worried about in-demand library materials being snatched from right under your nose)... AND DASHED JOGGED THE HECK OUT OF THE LIBRARY (yes, very worried), popped the things into the bookdrop, and jogged back inside. With this, I had probably ran more than I ever did in the past week. But back to the borrowing machine. What is staring back at me when I put the CD under the scanners, is: Do you wish to renew this item? So I looked carefully at the CD title (muffled inside the textured plastic casing). I... had returned the wrong CD. Somehow, the CD I slid down the bookdrop was the hard-to-get(HTG) CD. Why did my fling-key-into-laundry-basket mechanism come into play now?!! Thus begin the approach-counter-staff-and-begcourteously-request-back-the-CD procedure. Luckily, I needn't queue for the whole of the long queue, as I was able to ask a senior-looking staff who was walking around to help me retrieve the CD. (Before this fiasco, I had troubled her with another question, so this was very embarrassing :3 ) WHOOPS. Running out of time to type this entry... (as always.) Long story short, I got back the HTG CD, prostrated myself before the borrowing machine, and "Unable to borrow. Please check with counter service." s.C.: NOOOOOOO D: Borrowing machine: Counter service is thataway. *snerks* s.C.: *trudges off to wait at long queue again.* *tries to avoid senior-looking-staff's questioning gaze* Wait. *thinks* How come I was able to go out of the library with that CD if it hasn't even been borrowed? ...out of time; to be continued. :D � Don't ":D" me! --- Wow, continued! So yes, you might have wondered halfway through the entry how I was even able to bring the not-yet-borrowed HTG CD out of the library past the detector without the latter beeping. Seemed like I had been so flustered it didn't even occur to me until I was near the front of the customer service queue. Ah well, my turn now. Might as well ask. "...Hm? Did you get it off the shelf? This item is actually reserved." 囧 死 I might as well have dashed off home with the CD, then return it the same afternoon... I just needed the CD for a few hours! This story has a happy ending: s.C. was able to find the CD at another library on the same day. What a relief. I had an ending to this entry prepared yesterday, but I forgot what it is now. So I'll say this instead: Gintamaaaaa a a a a � � <- last week's reaction. 回頭君你果然又回頭了。 What is this. Bringing the two Last Bosses(?) together in a second consecutive serious story arc(?)? What is this Gorilla-sensei you want to end Gintama so much is that it? Yeah I know you're already 4 whole volumes past your estimated end-by-vol-30 but させるかァァ！ Like we'll let you! I did it I did I finally did a GUTTURAL RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR oh   my   go s h I I thought I could never do it within my lifetime but there it was a pure 3 seconds of rrrrrrrrr at the back of my throat I was so shocked and excited and excited that I forgot to take note of how I did it. How much air did I have to force out? How was my mouth and tongue positioned? I MEAN First time I ever tried it, I developed a sore throat. Not so long ago I tried it again, I nearly drowned myself trying to rrrrrrr against a spray of shower water. This time I tried it again, it was not immediate, but somehow the structure-feel(!) at the back of my throat changed and then suddenly for that few seconds it was not a khaaa or gnaaa or grrrr just a beautiful vibration of rrrrrrrrrrrra just came out perfectly. Seriously I just I you know I was actually typing an entry that was touching on some linguistic stuff so in a topically-related way, I was just suddenly moved to trying it out again for pure entertainment But obviously, I did something right this time. If I hadn't run out of breath, I would never have wanted to stop that roll. ...So, who cares about that post! As you can see, I'm a little too estatic to be coherent. Naturally, between the time of achieving that miracle of a roll and writing this post, I tried rr-ing again. But I had, in my excitement, also swallowed that magically right amount of saliva (the amount of which of course, I failed to note) that had helped with the roll, so immediately, I went back to square one with a dry khaaa again. Then, between that and now, I managed a light "rrr" that actually wasn't rr enough but it was a clear enough vibration to tell me that I hadn't just imagined that undulated roll of guttural sexiness five minutes ago. At least I now know that it is do-able, because really, I haven't even nailed the alveolar trilled r yet. And this, is what I do practise more regularly (okay, yes, qualifier here is "more" XD), and actually much longer ago. To me, it was just supposed to be easier than the guttural r. Heck, learning the guttural r is even part of my "Wishes for the next Decade" list that actually starts from 2010. Now I've gone and achieve it one time even before 2010 has begun. What is this nonsense. XD I'll have to aim for being able to do it again then, I guess. For the record, the back of my throat feels... sticky. Wow, no wonder certain people have certain accents when they speak certain languages. It's like a different cellular arrangement in your mouth altogether. Or maybe I'm just going to get a sore throat tomorrow after all.

I'm so heartbroken. It's not even because of the final chapter of Saiyuki Gaiden. For once in a long while I've managed to almost complete an actual drawing, sort of... kind of... ok not really... but anyway what happens? The data goes corrupt on me. DX Thank goodness for the online backup. Not that good a quality, but nevertheless a backup. I LOVE YOU AND HATE YOU AT THE SAME TIME, EVERNOTE :D Since it's obvious words don't get much screentime in this journal, I shall resort to posting pictures. Y/Y? yes "Panel (-1)" is, like, the panel just before Panel 1 and just after the last panel of the previous page. It's, like, totally not my imagination m'kay? Only good kids can see it. Look, it's called GinTama for a reason   but not -this- reason you retard Sorry I sort of skimped on Tama-chan, but I sort of lost the will to complete the drawing (because I sort of like it the way it is before I go ruin it further -_-). The owner of the very kind foot in the corner facilitating this whole event is the, hm, White Blood Cell King. Wow, awkward English name is awkward. XD Tosshi actually made the cover of the last tankoubon cover, so there is a very real possibility the WBC King could grace one of the future covers. It'll be A Very Good Thing indeed if that happens. WBCK/Tosshi is my secret not-so-guilty CP(bricked And Tosshi/Hijikata(IN THAT ORDER) and GinWBCK are very delicious as wel(chaired And I'm still stopped on the 101th episode of the Gintama anime. Right at the Itou Arc. And there are? 158 episodes and ongoing. What's the use of my celebrating yet another season (old news XD) of Gintama when I don't even watch it. More like, what kind of fan am I? D: ----------- These days/weeks have been a gathering of people from all over various countries like Canada, Australia, China, Singapore, and of course, Hong Kong. It's enough to start an H1N1 party, really. I finally met my little cousin from Canada. I've met her elder brother before, but this little girl is way less inclined than him to switch into Chinese. Such a shame, really. *sorta proud of being Chinese* In fact, all but the oldest two of my generation of cousins are educated in English-speaking countries IN FACT THEY'RE ALL IN PAIRS AND I'M THE ONLY ONLY-CHILD but that's another story - so conversations are regularly peppered with English (not that local Hong Kongers don't do that already; I don't see why Singapore used to raise such a fuss about people speaking in rojaks of English/Chinese/Malay/etc. People in a culture permeated with more than one language would be bound to lapse into that casually if they are sufficiently comfortable with it. <-sudden random opinion) But anyway, my cousins do so with those caucasian accents. And my little Canadian cousin couldn't hear/understand me when I asked "Are you comfortable?". Well, I was whispering, but I asked three times. ;_; Should've tried drawling it out in her accent in retrospect (my default foreign accent is Britishfootball pundits), but we were in a solemn setting and that [amusing imagery] didn't occur to me then. Oh, talking to her in Chinese would've worked too.*just remembered* BUT I ASKED THREE TI(yeah k enufthx Anyway when she asked cutely, "Whe~re's Si~ngapo~re?" (<-her drawl XD), I was tempted to say "little red dot on the map". Anyway#2 I learnt today that my father was also supposed to go Canada to study in his school days, but didn't in the end because of ill health. "If I did, I'll probably go there and stay there, [just like my brother]" Imagine that! And there'll be no s.C. then. ;__; And my father hated studying. So that's where I got those genes from. :D Darn, couldn't you just give me the height and sports genes (heck, my mother could probably contribute to the latter too without your help XD)and leave it at that? No need for such generosity. ----------- ... ...Once again my rambling habit took over this entry. ...Wait holy crap my father just freaking said he took me to the 六四事件 demonstration back then (in HK of course). He sat me on his shoulder. Heck, I might've thought it was a trip to a parade/the amusement park because that's when I always sat on his shoulder. I don't remember the demo. Not that I knew what they were then. Amusement park. Why do I not remember such historical things from my childhood?! ...Anyway, I'd wanted to say something about how the best thing that happened this season was the animating of Hetalia. It allowed me to find the English fandom and blossom my Hetalia love into TRUE HETALIA LUV. Try reading western history in Japanese. I wouldn't even do that in Chinese. The names are a nightmare (unless when they underlined it for you, but still...). So while I read the original strips and found Hetalia a very interesting premise, it never really became a Love until I explored that fandom, where absolutely brilliant, intelligent and fantastic people contribute to English info/historically correct fics(!!) that can be described as what I feel is eye-openingly educational, directly or indirectly. Hetalia itself is, in all honesty, not all that emotionally accurate or educational. I remembered Himaruya-sensei even wrote that he wasn't all that into history... until the Hetare-ness of Italia caught his attention. But the author does do his research, and is trivially accurate enough, but not accurate accurate. But together with the fandoms bits of info, the education comes from truth-finding and research that has never been more fun to do. And as a casual history-reader (that's why I mentioned the underlined names business -_-), this is somewhat a treasure trove. TL;DR: Axis Powers Hetalia is about anthropomorphic countries. It is interesting if you view it with the right mindset: lighthearted. Give the anime a go! The voices and sounds AND SONGS PFFTBUAHAHA make it even better. Only 5 minutes per episode. A little personal peeve I have though, is the majority of this fandom's depiction of the character of Russia as being deliberately and out-of-line InsaneRapistCreepyViolent. I'm not vouching for the actual country of Soviet/Russia here, but the depiction of the character. That fandom interpretation really is not to my liking. Sure, his mental state is questionable at times. Many times. But it is certainly not in such a way that his default state is insane. If you really just read the strips as they are, really, in normal circumstances, He is just a cute, moe blob of moe-ness. Blob is big-boned, yes, but this is the first time I've ever called an Animanga character moe, and Russia really is. (Can you hear my squeals oozing out from the lime green above?) He's about the only character so far whom I can affix both -sama and -chan to without any qualms. Heck, it's even spelled out in the profile that he's simply a childlike country bumpkin with that childlike cruel tendency. ...That's creepy, I won't deny, but not in the extremities of the fandom interpretation. Chinese fandom is not that bad - at least on the sites I've visited - but that's probably due to the Sino-Russian relation sentiments. (Normal fujoushi-ness applies, so you get Russia/China in there XD) My favourite CP, you ask? Nobody asked US/RUSSIA FYEAH YES RUSSIA'S TOTALLY ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SLASH THEY'RE TOTALLY MY KIND OF BLOW-MY-NOSE-IN-YOUR-ONEWAY-TICKET-TO-SIBERIA PAIRING BUT IMMA SUCKER FOR MOE ALFRED/IVAN TOO D: Man, Russia's not even my favourite character. (He's 2nd. Not far from 1st though. 1.5th?) And now I will be a complete hypocrite and post a creepyRussia. Enjoy a half-drawn psychoticness~ D: ----------- OH AND 1 ENTRY AGO I WAS POSTING IN HK. Yesterday, I got praised in a very, very good way. It wasn't really a praise, but the things he said were way more than a praise. and he said he recommended me during the meeting earlier on orz sorry my weak heart can't take the nice surprise At least this is different from my other part time jobs and I actually made myself useful in the real useful-to-a-company sense. But before that, there was this tragic episode earlier in the day. It was tragic in a way that you wish you could laugh right in the person's face for your own silliness but had to restrain yourself since you don't know her too well. And that she's the sales manager. s.C.: (walks into the sales unit) (A distance away, some people noticed and looked at me expectantly) (Didn't really acknowledge; walks round to cubicle of person I was looking for) (Isn't there. Asks secretary) Oh? Where's [she]? Secretary: There~ (points) s.C.: (Walks round a crescent of cubicles) (Suddenly sees her) OH! DIDN'T I JUST SORT OF PASSED BY HER A WHILE AGO? And she was wearing these easily-identifiable clothes too. I noticed the clothes but not the face when I was coming in. And I was talking to her even earlier on, so I should have known. But oh... goodness, what... is... this explosive explosion I feel in my chest... like huge frown and a big grin fighting for space in my heart at the same time... the kind when you found just where the source of the problem lies but are powerless to solve... Nobody around me seems to know javascript, and I understand it just enough to know that the code is wrong (and I've proven so with a workaround test), but not enough to know just how exactly to reproduce the syntax the precise way I want it to work for me. It's an easy problem to solve -- if one knows javascript. Isn't that explosive? It's like a baby. He knows he wants milk. But nobody understands what he's crying out for unless he actually speaks the human language. So he's got to crawl to the kitchen and get the milk himself. And I've got to plough through the blessed millions of google search results to find a similar code structure to what I'm looking for. Except the baby has it easier because aw, nobody actually ignores a baby~[truncated for digression] In the first place why did they choose to do it with javascript anyway? Isn't it simpler and more efficient to fetch it server-side? And that's my love-hate relationship with languages/programming. You know, I've been sitting on these huge manga and anime posts since a month/s ago, which I hardly have the opportunity to post because when I could, the post were already outdated and by the time I shrugged off my laziness and updated them, the internet stops working. Does anyone know how to search from a search engine special characters like !, &, % etc.? This has been bugging me for very long but now, especially, I am very awed by a difference I found between "!==false" and "!=false" and want to find out more, and if this difference is only restricted to PHP. But it is just very hard to find hits when your keywords are ! and =... Anyway, my lifetime ambition would be to find out just why my internet connection at home works the way it does(n't). That's it. I've gone and started Professor Layton and the Curious Village. Why, s.C., do you like to ill-treat yourself so much? Why do you insist on doing Sudoku puzzles that have more than one unique solution? Why do you like to eat chilli kangkong and laksa when you can't stand spicyness? Why do you keep moving into a position that makes it easy for the opponent(/teammate) to whack the ball into your face? Your whole life has been one big self-abuse. Mか Sか どっちなんだよ。きっちりしなさい！ But I digress. But I also have little intention to further elaborate on the first sentence so I shall digress further. I found that the sfusion spymac page was down for a few days. My immediate impression was that they've finally shut down their hosting services for good, and I actually breathed a light sigh of relief. Then I was rudely reminded of the fact that I have zero backups of the scans in my new hd, and I sucked back in the sigh of relief. Turns out it was just as well, because when I logged on to the dwindling forums of the original spymac site, I was greeted with the assurance that it was just a temporary glitch... followed by "it will not be gone forever until June 1, 2008 (see thread in Spymac forum)". EHH?! Wait! So it -is- going down after all??! In two months' time?? It's not like I've not seen it coming, but it's... amusing - for want of a better word - to know the news like this. You see the answer to the problem you are facing at the moment, then you notice the huge relevant news written in the P.S. Reminds me of a chapter in Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei but I sha[truncated for length] Finding another host is not a problem these days, what with up to the tens of GBs of webspace freehosts are offering, complete with scripts and databases. When I think back on those days where 100MB was a luxury and support for scripts were rare with freehosts - those countable few that did offer them went down pretty quickly - I have to think: wow. The main spymac site has essentially become another youtube-sitething since a few years ago, and those-who-make-decisions weren't too concerned with the classic spymac side (where there ARE actually stuff about Macs) anymore, which I think was actually why my sfusion site lasted so long over there. Remember Hollosite, the backup place for spymac? Well they cared, so they took down my page because the scans violated the tos. So I won't be too sorry to part with spymac, but it was good while it lasted (except for that huge banner on top); I thought the webdav thingy was actually more convenient than any ftp service I've ever tried. Now that I'm off to find another host, I might even get around to finally using the DNS service that has been sitting around since forever. Not necessarily on a top-level domain, but we'll see. At least it would be such that I can retain the same URL even if I have to scurry from host to host. =========== What with sitefights shutting down its free service recently (which truly amazed me if only because of how many years it lasted when I thought it would be gone in a few months), I wonder if pitas will go away unexpectedly as well. Just a little tidbit for those who don't have accounts here: the "News" page has not been updated since exactly four years ago, and the admin page now is exactly like it was when I first started six years ago. Pitas, in this internet age of bbs forums and daily-updating journalism, is like a completely dead site. Except it works splendidly, has amazing uptime, and of course, its members are still updating their journals with vigour. I don't even know if the help email works because there is so little use for it. I just often wonder how they manage to keep this whole place going. Of course, it lacks auto-archiving scripts and tags and rss and all those things they offer in weblog services these days, but hey, it has no ads, no banners, allows you to customise your own layouts and entries, allows any and every kind of markup-tags you'd ever care to use, and to top it off, a short and unique (read: you'd hardly know it's a bloggering/wordpressing/diarying service at first glance) domain name. I'm happy.   <-easily satisfied, part 201 Sure, I'm not one of those who update with vigour, but I hope pitas will last. P.S. I accept that wordpress does not allow customisation of layouts due to security reasons (I rolled my eyes at the way they made the ability to change CSS out to be as though it is as powerful as changing HTML. Well, you know, you still have to be able to change the tags in the html document to fully utilise the power of css...), but I CANNOT believe that wordpress does not allow "<small>". I was going to post something today. Then ZSZS #6 killed me. I mean, SZBS killed me a lot of times before. But this episode was like a nuclear implosion. In your ribcage. I'll post something when I un-die. ...But then again, I probably would have died without its help anyway, because I just attended my first football training in weeks. I kept seeing white sparks 囧 Which became more apparent when it got dark 囧囧 And yes, I'm still only up to episode 6 of ZSZS. It's my own fault to want to wait for my favourite English subs to be released. BUT I HAVE LEARNT. I will now catch up with it streamed, then download the episode when the subs come out. Which means I will now probably have a bigger chance of understanding the neta on SZBH. WTF CHAIN REACTION FRANCHISE

The moment I found it available, I deleted 200MB of anime to make way for it. And the moment it got downloaded in a mere 40+ minutes, I quit several running programs and switched Firefox to Low Priority, just so it would run smoothly on MPC for the next 30 minutes. Welcome to my computer, Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations #3. I just couldn't wait to watch this episode, for reasons unclear to even myself. It could be that there were Fai-centric scenes in the corresponding manga chapters that I could read over and over and over again (which I did), and that I can't wait to hear those same scenes VOICED, and that this was the last episode, and that the last episode of such OAV series will not disappoint. Indeed, it did not disappoint. In fact, I had some fairly deep fingernail marks on my palms by the end of the episode. Yesh, The Department of Consumer Safety sez do not watch Tsubasa TR 3 with your nail uncut! Most of those fist-clenching scenes include Fai, but of course that's just my personal biasness. Double biasness if you consider Namikawa OH MY GOD MAKING THAT SOUND THT SOUND MY HEART JUST BROKE doing a rather stellar job with the scenes I mentioned above. But even for the Sakura scenes... let's just say, I winced at scenes that I didn't even think I cared much for in the manga. (They did left out the painful fingernails-sliding-against-rock scene though, I think?) AND OH, how can I forget to mention this? This did not happen in the manga and it stunned me thoroughly(well, for a few seconds at least) when it appeared (also notice how lovely the background is): [Cut] Spoiler(?) for Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations 3 THAT AIN'T TSUBASA!SAKURA YO But really, does it have some sort of significance? A hint of something to come in the current manga? Or was it just... there for appearance's sake? The script is written by Ohkawa-sensei (of CLAMP) herself, so I'd like to think that it's not just some meaningless filler insertion by some animation company. But throughout the whole series, I'd always been convinced that Tsubasa had little - if at all - to do with Cardcaptor. They're simply different universes. And by that I mean manga universes, not some in-story spatial universes that are apparently all inter-accessible via one white Mokona. Oh, and I forgot that it happened during this arc, but Fai said, "Vie a Princia" (<-forgot the spelling), which made me very happy. XD The OAV did fail to linger on certain scenes that had a much bigger impact in the manga equivalent though, i.e. panels that took up a full/double page were just treated like normal 1-second scenes, but I'll put that down to time constraints; they certainly packed a whole lot of manga materials into 30 minutes. So now... no more Tsubasa animation ~(;o;~) not for the time being, at least. And if there ever were another series, Fai's voice will be - I think - a permanent shade deeper. (<-どうでもいいや んなもん And now to look forward to the long-delayedawaited Saiyuki RELOAD -burial- #3 - Gojyo & Hakkai chapter. Which, incidentally, would also make it the last episode of this OVA series. I swear there's a conspiracy to bully my hard disk space this late March. Busgamer, Tsubasa, Saiyuki, A la Mode 3(!!!), certain coffdscoffroms, and if I'm lucky enough, Love Revo PC version. Especially A la Mode 3, which would probably take up around 2 gigs of space. And another 1+gigs when the subs come out. BUT I AM WILLING TO SACRIFICE IN THE NAME OF NEOROMA EVENTS LABU <-SACRIFICE WHAT? Gintama #94 had quality like you wouldn't believe. I can't remember being this impressed since #61, that unforgettable end-of-Benizakura-arc episode with its epic water-swift action scenes. And even then, it had distortions in the drawings here and there. But #94 was JUST. You just know a well-made episode when you see it and I told myself just that about 10 minutes into the episode. The voice-acting was well-done (Haga=NariKen!!@%!!?! XD APT.) There were no noticible distortions throughout the WHOLE episode, ...unless you count beautification as a form of distortion...         WHO R U? MORE IMPORTANTLY WHAT'S UP WITH THAT HAND. Also note the willingness of the anime to depict Gin-san in a purple suit. I swear that's all they ever put him in. ANIMATION TEAM GJ. But not only was everyone very well-drawn (even Heidi XD), the little details in the movements and hand motions were exceptionally sweet (re: Lawyer Gin XD). That totally made the episode. And when it comes to such episodes, I have to download the high quality raw for keepsake. LATE MARCH DISK SPACE CONSPIRACY +1. Anyway, the quality dropped again in the next episode. Not unexpected - episodes like #94 are hard to come by after all, especially with long series like Gintama. In fact, I'd say it's generally one of the best series around to have kept up such quality (even for the worst of the filler Gintama episodes) even after so many episodes. Definitely surpassed all my expectations with flying rainbowcrack colours. Speaking of rainbow colours, the animation staff's attempt to drag on the minutes for this episode is pure win. They only dragged it for 3+ minutes this time though XD but it's good enough. They get to cut down on the work done, make it informational(?), and make me Laugh Out Loud. Gintama's animation staff is not your ordinary bunch of lazyasses geniuses lazyass-geniuses.   OIIII DON'T MAKE IT SO BIG AND CLEAR I also watched Busgamer #1. From the looks of the opening sequence, I thought I was going to be disappointed, because there were already none too few art distortions. But going into the actual episode, HMMM I guess it's not -that- bad, considering how only some Minekura-series anime episodes that ever aired have captured her style perfectly. Aside, Suwabe as Nakajou in the Drama CD sounded perfectly apt, but when I actually -see- Nakajou on the screen with that voice, it feels a bit off. WHYYY. It's just me? XD

NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU why am I always subjected to this kind of crackkkk As a brief example to what Gin-san is talking about, one of the DVD #7 covers that I'd recently (again) spilt noseblood over: (Eh? Why is it Hijikata-kun again? Is he so suitable for the M role?) And what does all these show? That the Gintama fan(girl)-base is crazy enough to vote for a pairing that hasn't even actually met each other yet for the DVD cover, That TakaHiji make one hot couple 囧 And GOOD JOB, SUNRISE. for bringing GinHiji to the animated screen OMG i cry tears of joy. Good job Gintama, for going into the third year animated unexpectedly and fourth year serialised. Goodness, have I really been following Gintama for that long? =========== As for the occasion itself, I received a big impactful kiss today. It went something like this. In case you were wondering, nothing in that animation was exaggerated. The ball and I performed a form of elastic collision sequence that is, to quote my teammates, "Just like those comics you read!" Yes, I could actually feel it in slow motion when I was in the air. XD And a teammate kindly executed a reenactment for me with a waterbottle. How would I know that when a superpowersmash ball hits you when your feet aren't touching the ground, you would really flip head over heels over head? I THOUGHT CAPTAIN TSUBASA WAS EXAGGERATING. You mean my childhood was not made up of lies "Who told you to jump so high? Too tall lah you." DASEE A day that passes is a day closer to my prediction that I will one day die of concussion.

The somewhat Daisuke-overloaded post

I can't believe she got it. I kept preparing myself for the possibility that she might not be able to find it amidst all the magazines in Japan, or perhaps she might be enjoying herself so much that she forgot to buy it on the second-last day of her trip (I can imagine -that- happening if it were me), because it only came out on 9th February. And that's the thing. All throughout January, I had been simply agonising over just how on earth I was going to get my hands on this magazine. Now, I'm usually not one partial to buying such magazines, and sometimes one could even find scans of these on the internet. But in January, I found out that Seigura was going to feature "DD" in the next edition. DD = Kishio Daisuke + Namikawa Daisuke But no, I wasn't quite moved just yet; if I had the inclination to splurge on every magazine that featured Namikawa, I'd be broke by now. His soundclips are really all that I need. Then I read that this edition will also include a Sister of Wellber interview. Wellber = Namikawa And that there will be a report on the NeoRomance A la Mode 3 event that just happened in December last year. A la Mode 3 = Namikawa ...I've not seen so much Namikawa content in one magazine ever since nmkw appeared in that issue with the Neoroma ojiisan-tachi 大叔堆裡的非大叔 XD sorry... since a couple of years ago. But Kinokuniya doesn't!!! stock Seigura, if I remembered correctly. How on earth was I going to get that magazine? And for the first time in my life, I browsed Amazon for purchasing purposes. And found that their shipping rates were so high it wasn't even funny. And some other sites I surfed upon did not really offer international shipping. So while feeling a little disappointed, I decided to resign myself to a Seigura-less fate. Oh well, I thought, it's not as if... THEN I SAW THE PREVIEW COVER. IT WAS BRIGHT AND WHITE AND SPARKLY. What happened to DD's Red and Blue colour scheme? That was around the start of February. After this traumatic incident - to see such a brilliant cover of a magazine that one cannot come to have - I had a sort of 囧 expression on, which was not very becoming of a girl who is supposed to be looking forward to the Chinese New Year holidays. I decided that I have to have this magazine at all ...certain cost, one in which Amazon shipping rates preferably do not come into play. And of course I had little luck XD   <- s.C., the girl who can afford to XD now Then one day, (WHEN DID THIS BECOME A STORY) 在風和日麗的晚上 no such thing you mad woman, s.C. realised that she hasn't visited blogs for quite some while. *pauses to wait for flying bricks* (psst btw phan~, if you're even still reading this, I've yet to rediscover your blog address...) And after she made the life-changing click to YL's blog, and read that she was bound for Japan on Wednesday 6 Feb, it took a while to sink in that... that...! There is a chance to- s.C.: "あれ, isn't it 6 Feb today?" 囧 It was night, and it was Feburary the 6th. YL has already left janai kaaaaa!!! 囧 ...so thought The Girl Who Slept Through Time, after checking with the computer clock. (Eh? Leapt, you say? What leapt? Leapt what?) It was only after several full minutes in the tens that she discovered... it was 6 February indeed, 1 a.m. in the morning. 囧 I'd like to thank my mum, my dad, my That YL was still not asleep at this hour. XD That this year's CNY sort of allowed for a long weekend, which overlapped with 9 Feb, the release date of Seigura March. That YL was only coming back on 10 Feb. ...in the order of increasing miraculity(what). Seriously. YL could very well have come back on the morning of 9 Feb but no, it had to be 10 Feb. XD So YL can you imagine? You've helped me bought something akin to a magazine full of exclusive Jay Chou contents only available in the deserts of Saudi Arabia. (WHAT KIND OF ANALOGY IS THAT???) THANK YOU SO MUCHHHHHH :D :D :D Just a little extra anecdote (NO PLS THIS STORY HAS GOTTEN LONG ENOUGH) - after I parted ways with YL, I ran into another friend. Friend K's first words to me were, "Hey, are you injured?" XD But that's another story. At the tail end of the injury conversation, s.C.: *swings green bag excitedly* Hey, heyhey! I just got something bought from Japan! K: ? What is it? How did you get it? s.C.: My friend got it for me when she was in Japan. *suddenly thinks of something* Ooh! Look, look! Isn't he cute??? *starts to nudge magazine out of bag* K: Oh my gawd s.C.!!! Obviously she has not seen this girl get this excited over a guy before. Few people have. And even then it was over 2D men. XD s.C.: *manages to take out top part of mag* K: Oh my gawd WHICH ONE??? s.C.: *pulls bag down to middle of cover* *pointpointpoint* This one! This one!! K: Omg he's so fat! XD XD XD "YES. But he's so cute!!!" XDXDXD And that's the truth. Namikawa Daisuke is frickin' adorable, behavior or otherwise. Anyway, if she had looked more closely, she might have had something else to complain about. His eyebrows. XD Seiyuu-lovers are a specialised group of fans indeed. ANYWAY I DIED LOOKING AT THE PICTURES. A nice, blissful death of hypo-nosebloodidus. The title of their 3rd single is "Dramatic Dive", so there's Mr Namikawa very nicely trying to do a dramatic jump. ...OIIIII PLZ KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DIVES AND JUMPS KTHX. XD (And I swear he looks like Kusuda-san there.) The bottom left picture was ultra cool. Can't tell it from here, but certain details in the close-up made it really charming. And I swear he looks the cutest with that swept-up hairstyle on the right. It was like this in the Neoroma Ange Party photobook, and it was like this during one of the Wellber events. I love this look a lot. It makes him look a lot more boyish, if he doesn't already look much younger than his 31 years old. (32 in 1.5 months' time 囧) I forgot how to spell "cutest". Three times. Cutetess, cutess, cutetest. Omg nmkw what are you doing to my brain. And I found it really amusing that they tried to get KishioDai to be the same height as Namikawa by having him wear ultra thick soles (and Nami slightly bending his knees, in a cool way). Wait, am I not supposed to notice that? XD My bad. I only noticed it 'cos I know Kishio's about the same height as I am, yet why are they the same height in this photoshoot??? XD And to complete my happiness, the Seigura site has a short video message of them promoting their single and the Cat's Hand MOVIEEEEE. NO NAMIKAWA DON'T LOSE TO DAISAKU'S LAMELESS. XD GANBARE NMKW. I hope I'll get to watch Cat's Hand one day. On the presents page (where readers get a chance to win signatures/posters etc.), Namikawa had a couple of signed polaroids up for grabs. They have both versions of his signatures! As usual, his kanji signature is damn cute (and extremely readable 囧), but I swear his new(ish) English signature frickin' makes me scream in delight and cuteness-attack. Especially when signed with such a thick squiggly marker pen. The photos themselves had him in cool poses and the likes, but what killed me were the hand-written comments on two of the photos themselves. In his own words, marked down in those squiggly marker pens are these exact exclamation marks and random katakana: ヤベ！ はずかしい！！ and the other, カッコつけてるヨ どうすんの？ SHIRU KA, BOKEEE!!! Good grief nmkw, please don't do this. 1) You're breaking the "cool" in DD's concept of a "cool and unsmiley" unit, and 2) You are cuting me to death. P.S. To the person who thought up the concept of "cool and unsmiley", ...these are the two last people I will think of as cool and unsmiley. LOSE. :D One is crazy, and the other is... also crazy, in a completely different sense. XD And both are perverts. (EH?!) Staying true to the title of this post, may I also mention that on the same page, they have Ono Daisuke promoting his new column in another video message. I've always thought that Ono D in some way looks slightly like Gackt, especially at certain angles i.e. top-view shots. Must be his nose. XD I have nothing recent to write about Hirakawa Daisuke. WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN A DOUJINSHI DRAWN IN SAYONARA ZETSUBOU SENSEI??? 吹いた マジ吹いた Zanzou? =========== Thank you ZSZS, for kindly handing me the smooth opportunity to comment on the latest Saiyuki chapter. I DEAD. No, seriously. How long have I been waiting for this moment? Several years - even way before this layout (which, I promise, will be reuploaded to another host sometime soon -_-) was put up and somehow refused to leave. "Yatto yonda ne." So, you've finally said it. Said Ukoku's name to his face, that is. I can't believe how much time I spent squeeing at that sentence and having mutiple Innermind-theatres(TM) running simultaneously. It's almost, what, like Sanzo has finally deign to say Ukoku's name. At the same time, that very line that Sanzo uttered felt extremely strange (to me). I don't have Zero Sum with me right now, but from what I remembered, it just seemed very contrived for Sanzo to say "Ukoku Sanzo Hoshi" at that moment. Sure, it needed to be said at this point for the impact. But something about it is very out of place. Is it that Sanzo is suddenly saying it - name, title and all - despite having never even said it once at all? Or is it just that tagging on a "Sanzo Houshi" seemed a tad too respectful for Genjo Sanzo to say? Not because Genjo is impolite - he is when he needs to - but not when the Sanzo is one such as Ukoku. Or it could just be the lead-up. I remember thinking Sanzo could have tagged a "tte" in there somewhere, just so he didn't have to say "Ukoku Sanzo Hoshi" like he meant it. But oh, why am I nitpicking on the small details when this scene of meeting is more or less what I've been wishing for for so long? And for once, I SO wished that Minekura didn't leave her trademark toning + sound effects to depict the fighting scenes. Things that happened in the softball game before the turn of the year: Pitched everywhere within 10cm of the homeplate EXCEPT IN THE STRIKE ZONE. Gave away 7 runs in the first inning due to walks. YAY. (And to think in the first game I only gave away 2(?) walks.) THEN I HIT A HOME RUN. :D :D :D It's a bit special because it must have been only the third homerun in a proper match for me, ever. Everything else was always only conveniently hit during trainings. >_> In the middle of the 2nd inning, I found out why my pitching was going all over the place. STUPID WIND. This is the first time I realised the flight of a softball can actually be changed this significantly by wind. And so we held them to zero runs for the next couple of innings. :D :D :D Stupid wind. And now, we are in the quarterfinals against hall sev.n. D: In which most of my football teammates are. And of whom a couple were ex-softballers. D: D: I wish myself good luck. (I left my no.99 jersey at home, is that a bad sign? >_>)

WHY DID I SUBJECT MY EYES TO THIS.

My mother and I had been sitting down for the past couple of hours looking at and analysing MORTGAGE LOANS. WHY. The "looking at" part was fine, but the analysing part was frankly quite depressing. XD So now I've spent the last hours of my last day of freedom (before all the activities and games start once again) CALCULATING INTERESTS. Without equations. WHY Now I must vow to finish colouring my drawing before "tomorrow" starts, or it will never get done, ever. I hate myself for letting the past week of freedom go by so easily. On the bright side, I accidentally missed two trainings today 'cos I missed seeing the messages, so I've sort of bought myself one day of time. :D THAT'S A BRIGHT SIDE??? =========== Using a mini wireless mouse for now, until I can get myself a ps/2 adapter for the Logitech. ("No it doesn't." was written using my current half-spoilt AcerNicky. Handles details better than this mini BENQ. Complicated family of mouses! ...Mice. Whatever.)

I just watched the Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations OVA raw. So much for leaving it till after exams (since I thought it was slated to only come out on Nov 26). So now the OVA schedules I'm concerned about goes like this: Tsubasa TR 1 - 2007 November (Just out) Saiyuki Reload -burial- 3 - 2007 December POSTPONED. D: Tsubasa TR 2 - 2008 January Saiyuki Reload -burial- 3 - 2008 February Tsubasa TR 3 - 2008 March What, now I have nothing to look forward to come December? But at least the new release date for the Hakkai-Gojyo Arc now fits in nicely between Tsubasa 2 & 3. The Tsubasa OVA was generally well done (take that, TVanimeversion!), though I don't understand why they switched the order of certain scenes when it just makes the story rhythm worse. Anyhow, today was a good day to watch it because it had been raining mercilessly outside, which is the same rainswept state the Tokyo world is perpetually in. (Surround sound~ :D) The downside is that the thunder really drowned out the audio now and then, and I had to rewind several times just to hear Fai use his Deep Voice to say Important Lines. *melts* One thing that urks me though, is that Kurogane looks consistently weird throughout. And Fuuma was just outright weird in the few frames he appeared in. XD At least Mokona is satisfactorily palm-sized now... shape notwithstanding. I also loved it that they left bits of spoilers in the ending theme itself, but such that if you don't know about them, you probably wouldn't notice anyway. I can't wait for Tsubasa OVA 2 to be out. That would cover the part - and the very page - of the Tokyo arc that makes my heart ache no matter how many times I read it. Which - on a related note - I've read again recently because Chuangyi finally released TRC Vol.16 (HOMG) after a long, long time due to problems with licensing(?). Good, now that would only make us, say, 5 volumes behind the Japanese release. But now that the Tsubasa problem is out of the way, what I'm more worried about is, are Saiyuki Reload Vol.7 onwards ever going to be released??? I mean, it's still scarily absent from the Chuangyi catalogue at the moment. I don't want to have to buy the Tong Li version instead. [Cut] Okay, since I've unconsciously typed so much (AGAIN), I might as well comment a bit on the TVB Anniversary Prize Presentation Ceremony I watched yesterday. :D Thing is, I haven't been chasing any TVB shows ever since Gallen Lo left around 4 years ago. So I have little reason to watch this annual show especially since they changed the format quite a few years ago, such that the Presentation itself is strictly just -that-, without all the crack performances by the actors/resses and wacky ad-libbing by the hosts. But HAY, it's the 40th anniversary this year! And I didn't want to be in the same room as my notes yesterday, so the TV was a natural choice. When they touched on the Best Actor Award section and flashed back on the previous winners for the past 10 years, ... OMG GALLEN WAS SO LENG ZAI IN THE 1998 ANNIVERSARY. XD XD XD The cable TV didn't broadcast this event back then, so I missed it. BUT NOW I HAVE BEEN REWARDED. XD <-s.C., the fangirl who is easily satisfied with a one-second clip He was also the 1997 and 2002 winner, but THE 1998 CLIP! *squees* His hairstyle was so nice. (OH SO IT'S JUST THE HAIRSTYLE?) That must've been for his Secret of the Heart role. How I'd loved that show. The Best Actress this year was Louise Lee! YAY :D Even though I've not seen the role she played, I just think it's due time she got an award of this calibre. Obviously her colleagues think so too, since the actresses side was going all "Congratulations See Kei Je!" and the actors side even gave her a standing ovation. :D She looked really overwhelmed, especially when her daughter appeared on stage ("Oh my, why are you here?") and gave her hugs and flowers. It became even more tear-jerking when they announced the winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award - the wrap-up award for the whole event. This year's award went to Fei Je Lydia Sum, but oh dear, look how heart-breakingly frail she is, wheeled in to stage in a wheelchair. Even with the same hairstyle and the same kind of glasses, she looked... so unlike her. Even Dodo Je looked completely overwhelmed when Fei Je was giving her thank-you speech. For a while I was going Don't give in! You're the host! It ended with her old friend and her daughter coming in to sing a song (one of Fei Je's own songs, I presume) with various flashbacks of her antics when she still had her health flashing on the big screen behind. Now that is some evil tear-inducing. ...Now this why I hate web-surfing. In the space of typing all those paragraphs above, I've just found out that Gallen has just finished filming his latest serial, ...AND IT'S A TVB ONE. AND he is also appearing in the 2008 TVB Calendar. Now the former I expect because he still owes TVB several episodes. But the latter! Is Gallen really so "up there" in TVB's mind? He's not even with TVB but he gets to appear in the calendar! @_@ (I'm happy, believe me. :D) I'll probably spend next week trying to find out more. Stupid Wikipedia Effect. I'VE FINALLY LISTENED TO HORITSUBA DRAMA CD 3. SO MUCH LOOOOVE. between Kurosama-sensei and Fai-sensei XD No seriously, whatever that CLAMP aren't putting in the manga (and they already putting a lot, especially in recent chapters), they're spreading the KuroFai love friendship in omake channels like this. And Horitsuba 3 wins because Nyamikawa-san gets to voice Y*** (<-spoiler?) as well. AHHHHHHH *rolls* But Nakai-san has too few lines in this drama... Doumeki please bully Watanuki more~ <3 AND this time they had cast comments at the end! It's not a group kansou thing though, regretfully. Those are usually so much more interesting than individual comments. And as expected, they each spoke only about 1 min, tops. ...UNTIL NMKW-SAN. I have no idea why I translated Namikawa's nonsense, but I fulfilled an inner peace in doing so. This man is so, so, completely random. <3 His first 1 and a half minutes of comment went about (relatively) normally, ...but isn't 1.5 minutes already too darn long oiiii?? I'll be the first to admit my Japanese listening is as bad as it comes, and he talks pretty fast, but a few seconds later I'm almost sure he was saying, "Fai to iu no hanashi tte... MAKE. Make, make to ima ushiro ga ittemasu." YES I'M PRETTY SURE THEY'RE TELLING YOU TO WIND IT UP. XD Please wind it up Namikawa-san. Nagai yo. "..Mou minna nanka zenzen... hora, mou. Miyu nanka mou kigae dashichatteru mon." Oh I love it when he does his "hora, mou" thing. XD *reminds self to listen to Purisute again* It's so inconvenient without Chinese/Japanese input on the computer. I found that I need to type Chinese/Japanese more often than I realised, be it for search purposes or etc. When will the computer person return me my CD? D: =========== (The following entry was written a week ago but computer was online-challenged.) This place needs more colours. Contrary to popular belief, I don't actually enjoy leaving this journal so stagnant. Thus! Drawn randomly for some personality test, which I didn't even reach the end of because my home wireless sucks that way. I've really learnt to love using the mouse to CG in the past couple of years - whether it be quick sketches in mspaint or extravagant(?) line-less portraits in openCanvas, I really have no complaints about drawing with the mouse. Well, except maybe the part where you get carpal tunnel syndrome. From hitting Ctrl-Z. Unfortunately, after all these about the death of the thumbdrive, the HDD, AND THEN THE MP3 USB-STICK (which means I've essentially lost every single bit of computer data I've ever had at one point - I'll get to that in a future post), I now have to contend with the mouse (thence referred to as "Nicky") failing me as well. So now Nicky can't click properly, and s.C. can't CG properly. And makes playing minesweeper a pain. But not all mouses are good for CGing, as my previous few mouses have proved. (Eh, wait, or was that "mice"?) Are there any good recommendations for mouses that are value for money? I'll love it to be optical, wired, but don't know about commonly-seen dpi and all that stuff. I NEED A NEW MOUSEY. D: (Wait, why did this become a tech help post...?) =========== And 'tis the season for exams! What better way to   o p e n   u p   y o u r   m i n d~ than... A An IQ Test? :D I got a 135! And I'd really enjoyed this one too, because unlike many other online quizzes, when it tells you it gets harder near the end, it gets harder near the end. So do refrain from strolling over the first few questions thinking, but it never gets harder near the end~, and continue to multitask your dinner with this quiz (cough), and end up with like 1 minute left for each question near the end (coughcough). Which, if I may gently suggest, will throw you into a swirling state of despair. :D And if any of you are wondering, no, my mouse is not named Nicky. I'd never know why, but I'm still feeling optimistic about being able to recover files from my HDD, even though deep in my heart, I know the chances of that (without spending money) is less than 10%. Or even less. There's just this... lack of a hollow feeling in the chest. Am I just this much of an idiotic optimist? Or optimistic idiot? =========== The CLAMP in Wonderland PV is narrated by Namikawa-san! Yes, he now gets his own span class in my html. (And yes, that's the new-age way of complimenting.) I'd also fangirl about the first Tokyo Revelations CM, in which there is one nanosecond of KuroFaiArmGrabbingAction going on in there, but I lack the means to screencap at the moment... By the way, TRC Chapitre 167... WHAATTA PUNCH FAI XD XD LEFT HOOK AT 'IM!! XD And here just two weeks ago, I was going to write how Chapter 166 was one of the best chapters ever in Tsubasa... Oh well, it still is.

Two days ago, I lost my thumbdrive. Yesterday, my laptop could not boot. I really, really, wanted to cry. Anyway, here's a little dedication for the imbecile retard who stole my thumbdrive. Only such inconsiderate, irresponsible dimwits could ever get me this pissed off. Can these dolts not just think how people could have important data in their thumbdrives? How softball gloves may not just be a simple sports equipment? That people may have precious photos and contacts in their handphones? Why do some human beings just have this low of an EQ? Random quote I actually came across yesterday before my laptop crashed: No drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. O'Rourke, writer (1947- ) Relevant or not, it is interesting that when I told 2 of my friends separately that I had left my thumbdrive in the computer lab and that I was going back to get it back right then, both of them were pretty certain it would not be where it was anymore. Is it really that predictable that society isn't as honest as people would have liked anymore? In the space of one day, how many people could have come and gone? Yet what fraction would actually thought to just snick it for whatever halfwit reasons they may have? I actually cheered up after that with an appropriate dosage of Namikawa Daisuke. I love that man. He is just so TENNENNNNNNN(BOKE) XD (see, I grinned just by typing this sentence). I really should dedicate an entry to him sometime. And luckily I actually transferred ONE very important thing back to my computer just the other day. I had called that a blessing. "Had", because, my harddisk then failed. ... I... am suitably optimistic. Just because I am. The HDD sounds bad, so it should be a physical problem. I have a whole list on what I'm planning to do, so I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. ALSO, our coach is leaving for Malaysia for good probably by this weekend to take up a job. It is sudden, but not unexpected. Just extremely sudden. Just when I feel I'm starting to shake off my injury and running decently again... I have been missing a lifetime record sessions of trainings since school started because of this injury. And I had wanted to perform back to my best just to show coach -and- myself that I still have it. He had said sometime ago that he used to consider getting me into the national team (I always thought he was joking, but now I know not O_O), but there suddenly was this period when I kept feeling giddy and immobile and my form just slid completely DOWN. <-This is my own comment, not his. I was pretty disappointed with myself during that (rather long) period. Luckily I hadn't really wanted to join the national team by then (softball side-effects?), else I'd really kill myself for not taking the chance to realise my childhood ambition. ARGH I wrote such a long entry unconsciously MUST GO CLASS NOWZ. ARGH why must my computer have to break down RIGHT BEFORE THE WEEKLONG RECESS WHEN I WOULD HAVE THE MOST USE OF MY LAPTOPPPPPPPP?
